Thank Goodness its Friday!!!

IT'S QUITTING TIME...and time to have some fun!!!

Ash and Bean both love school but let me tell you...their smiles, when they are stepping off that bus on Friday afternoons, melt my heart. They have a spring in their step (and yes, I mean that...some Fridays they skip over to me) and they are full of chit chat & questions.

This morning started out kind of gray and humid but by the time the bus pulled up it was pretty much perfect outside. The girls took full advantage of it...

Bean is a speed machine on her Razor 360. Do you know what they are?! Modern day Big Wheels with back wheels that are on casters. Picture an IKEA shopping cart that you can sit on, steer and do some crazy cool 360s in. SO MUCH FUN!!! (I just happen to be small enough that I can fit on it too!!) This afternoon Bean announced that she had a trick to show us. She started pedalling away from us, took her hands off the handlebars and started singing The Flobot's "Handlebars". It was perfect!! We gave her a 10 and two thumbs up!!

Ash is all about scaring me to death on her scooter. She goes so fast that she becomes a blur and then either jumps off or stops so abruptly that I know I will either be calling 911 or driving her to the Emergency Room! She never wipes out though and she always says, "I know what I'm doing, Mommy." (I'm sure she isn't going as fast as I think she is either but as a mom I tend to work myself up a bit. It is just the natural panic in a mother's heart.)

By the way, did you notice Ash's shoes...

These are some seriously sweet Converse All Stars! No need to rub your eyes...that IS glitter you are seeing :-)

Oh, and while the girls were celebrating the start to their weekend look who snuck away and I found in the backyard with a chainsaw (yet again)...

You can't see it but there is a serious smile on Chris's face.
Unfortunately, the tree branch that fell on the swing set left some serious damage to the tree that it was originally a part of. Chris had to take it down so we would all be safe while hanging out in the backyard. (I told you he was our hero!)

Now that you know how the rest of my family kick started their weekend, I'll let you know what I did. It was simple but it was perfect and it was just what I needed after this week...I got to hang out with two of my close friends, chit chat and laugh A LOT!!
