American Girl Crafting Fun...

The schools in our area are closed today and instead of just hanging out on the couch all day, I decided to plan some fun things for us to do.  One of those things was getting our craft on...

I am not the best with crafts. I can be if I put A LOT of effort into it but then it isn't as much fun for me. I need simplicity. I need things that are all in one box. If I have to hit more than two aisles for a project...you've lost me. I'm not proud of this. It's just who I am.

One day while strolling through Michaels craft store, I found the American Girl Craft section. Not only were my girls swooning, but I was too! These are adorable crafts and they have everything you need in either one box/kit or it is right there in their own pretty, organized section. When I see that they are on sale, I am like a tween rushing for a chance to meet Justin Bieber and I stock up for occasions just like today.

So, just a short while ago, we broke open one of these bad boys I had stored in my closet and got our craft on! We had a lot of fun together and yes, actually completed the project and already have it hanging up in their rooms. Take a look...

This was an easy project to do with the girls where we could still chit chat and not follow a million different steps. Even though it was a kit, it still gave them lots of design options to make it their own and be creative. They look great in their rooms too!

For those of you that can do all of this on your own from scratch...I applaud you! I'll just stick with the American Girl Craft aisle at my local Michaels. It's better for everyone that way. The world doesn't need anymore of my unfinished craft projects.
