One Tired, Happy Mommy

How in the world is it 9:53PM already?! Really?! My afternoon has been a complete blur since 2:30PM when I left the house to pick up my girls from school early for an appointment with their pediatrician.

I put more miles on my car in this time span than we do on our family trips to Michigan (Go Blue!!! I had to slide that in there...Saturday's game against Notre Dame was crazy insane!!!) We went from the girls' school to the pediatrician's office, from the pediatrician's office to the eye doctor's office to pick up newly prescribed glasses for Ash, from that office to our house to grab two pairs of cleats, 3 field hockey sticks, snacks and water bottles, from our house right back to where we started...the school, where I assist coach for Bean's field hockey team and when that practice is over...head coach for Ash's field hockey team. Finally, when that was done we headed back home. All of these places are probably in a radius of about 10 miles but I feel like it was a 100!

As I write this though, my exhaustion is fading a bit. Maybe it's because as much as we had to accomplish this afternoon I think I only had to threaten to pull the car over once. I'm kidding! I'm not sure if the girls sensed that today was a day that they had to keep it together or their mommy would fall apart or if they just left some good toys in the backseat to keep them busy during our travels. Either way, the more I think about it...I am incredibly thankful! They had great manners, offered to help me get things in and out of the car and even helped each other. This afternoon could have been a lot different. I'm tired now but it is a good tired..the one where you can rest your head on the pillow and fall asleep within minutes. The kind of tired that lets me know that I took great care of the two most important little girls in my life.
